JCAD electra

JCAD electra is completely new CAD software implemented using object-based technology. The extensive development work has resulted in several new software features.

JCAD electra is the first product-model-based Finnish electrical engineering design software. With previous CAD software, the drawing symbols have been graphic symbols. In JCAD electra, the symbols are intelligent product models to which a limitless amount of data can be attached, such as manufacturer-specific information.

The product model technology has been previously in use in mainly more advanced architectural design software. Data transfer complying with the global IFC protocol enables transfer of design data between the participants of a construction project. The product-model-based structure enables relations between different structural elements as well as more versatile and flexible application automation.

JCAD electra includes the graphics engine OpenGL, which enables fast work with a large number of design documents.

The world’s first command multiprocessing system implemented in the CAD environment that also enables faster design work.
